- Material: adults often swim with more power and for longer per session, so a thicker, more durable swimwear fabric with extra protection in vulnerable areas is essential.
- Monofin strength: an adult monofin is larger and stiffer because more power is needed for a strong push-off. A children's monofin simply is not designed for this.
